Resource Summary: This is the first session of a four-part series, which will discuss improving patient safety in health centers using technology-driven Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA) methods. This session will FOCUS on using data to prioritize patient safety improvements through identifying technologies that capture measures related to patient safety, prioritizing improvement efforts using FOCUS, and using a prioritization tool to select a PDSA project.

Resource Details: This session will help users find opportunities for improving patient safety through the first step in the FOCUS PDSA process; provide data measures focused on patient safety to assist in establishing Quality Assurance (QA)/Performance Improvement (PI) priorities; and prioritize QA/PI activities using FOCUS, available technology to capture data, and a Prioritization Scoring Grid based on the organization’s mission, vision, and values.
