CSH and MHP Salud, HRSA training and technical assistance providers produced this fact sheet Peers and Community Health Workers (CHWs): Key Ingredient for Diabetes Prevention and Control Programs to highlight a multi-year examination of key benefits CHWs bring: 1) lived experience able to customize health information and instructions 2) bridge to the broader diabetes care team and 3) advocacy for the needs of their clients. This fact sheet presentation will benefit health center leadership, clinical staff and front-line workers to advance the role of CHWs in diabetes prevention and control.
