Resource Summary: According to the CDC, about 1 in 4, or 61 million U.S. adults report having some form of disability. Communication with people with disabilities is part of the human experience, but sometimes people use words or phrases that are insensitive and do not promote understanding, dignity, and respect for people with disabilities.
Resource Details: In this webinar, NCHPH instructed health centers on how to communicate with patients with disabilities effectively and respectfully in a health center setting, discussed an inclusive healthy community model, and identified available disability inclusive tools for health center programs.
