Resource Summary: Medical Respite Care (MRC), also known as Recuperative Care, is acute and post-acute care for people experiencing homelessness who are not ill enough to remain in a hospital but are too ill to recover on the streets. This model of care has grown rapidly in recent years, with more than 145 known programs nation-wide. As more communities develop and increase MRC services, so does the importance of building capacity to support consumers during their time in MRC and after discharge to housing, shelter, etc. This webinar highlighted opportunities for providers, community partners, and stakeholders to connect individuals transitioning out of MRC with resources and wrap-around services that they need.
