Resource Summary: Some staff at health centers come into their roles possessing the skills for the job but not with an overall understanding of the position. In order to give staff the best chance at success in a new position, it is fundamentally important for staff to have a coach or mentor at the health center in which they are employed. These mentors can have a positive impact on the staff’s ability to carry out their role, increase satisfaction, and increase a sense of belonging for staff from a variety of backgrounds.
