Resource Summary: This issue is an exploration of street medicine and outreach care. After considering the spectrum of services and forms of service delivery that are encompassed by the term “outreach,” attention will be given to several programs that illustrate the different forms that medical outreach can take, including: A street medicine program, an urban street outreach program, a rural outreach initiative, and outreach care delivered through emergency services personnel. Best practices and considerations for agencies hoping to develop or expand medical outreach services, through in-person on-site services as well as telehealth delivery, will also be presented.
