Resource Summary: Starting March 31, 2021, Dr. Anabel Rodriguez’s UT Health team and volunteer interpreters facilitated on-dairy farm COVID-19 vaccine clinics by bridging established relationships with Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) Public Health Region 1 in Lubbock, Texas, and Aurora Organic Dairy in Stratford and Dublin, Texas. Dr. Rodriguez’s and her team’s farmworker research and outreach efforts and pre-existing relationships with producers in this rural region of Texas helped propel this initiative into action. This multi-agency vaccine collaboration created an open line of communication between the public health offices in the Texas Panhandle and the dairy farm leadership, dairy farm workers, and their families.
