Resource Details: Housing is a form of health care and contributes to positive health outcomes for people experiencing homelessness. The benefits of housing come with additional challenges, and newly housed individuals face unfamiliar logistical difficulties, emotions, and lack of social support. In addition, housing placement programs confront difficulties of their own including funding issues and a lack of available housing. This CME-accredited issue is dedicated to key housing approaches and models that may be utilized in housing programs, with a special focus on some of the challenges involved in housing families and a spotlight on lessons learned from care providers about how to create supportive structures and communities for people transitioning into housing.
